The complaints follow an outcry on social media after dozens of Indian Mulim women found their names in a dubious app called the “Bulli Bai” app. It appears to be a clone of last year’s “Sulli Deals” which sparked an argument last year. “Bulli” and “Sulli” are both derogatory terms used by social media trolls for Muslim women – calling them “deals of the day”. Although no sale was involved, the purpose of the app was to humiliate and harass its targets. Also Read – Samsung’s New TV Remote Uses Power From Your WiFi Router To Stay Charged

In essence, the creators of the Bulli app searched for images of prominent Muslim women in India and listed them in their app, which they hosted on GitHub. The app displayed the name of a prominent Muslim woman as “Bulli Bai of the Day” every day.

Now, GitHub has since removed the app from its platform saying it removes apps that violate its policies.
