KU to virtually host 10th Annual Social Work Conference this Friday, November 5th

Kutztown University will host the 10th Annual Conference on Social Work in the Global Environment titled “Social Work in the Covid Environment: Long-term Impacts and Global and Local Challenges for Vulnerable Populations”, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. , Friday November 5. All sessions will be virtual. The conference aims to contribute to the local-global perspective of social work by emphasizing global thinking and action at the local level.

The 10th annual conference will focus on the impacts of the pandemic on vulnerable populations with particular emphasis on the long-term impacts of COVID-19. There will be four sub-themes that the presentations will cover. These topics include the history of pandemics, impacts, challenges, and a social worker role in the COVID environment.

The Social Work in the Global Environment conference is open to students, faculty, staff and community members interested in the impact of the pandemic on the health and well-being of vulnerable populations. Social work students, in addition to other humanities specializations, are encouraged to join the virtual event.

The conference is free, but registration is required. Registration is available in line.
