Independent sneaker chain Social Status joins the recent series of Nike Dunk collaborations with its own upcoming collaboration.
Recently leaked footage of @ US_11 on Twitter reveal that there are two Social Status x Nike Dunk styles in the works. While the inspiration behind the set is currently unconfirmed, store owner James Whitner added to the speculation by saying on Instagram that free lunch is the central theme of the project. Various materials are used on the uppers of the shoe including velor, suede and leather.
It should be noted that the pictures show the preschool version of the shoes, as men’s pairs have yet to surface.
There are currently no release details available for this food-inspired Social Status x Nike Dunk collaboration, but keep it locked to Sole Collector for new developments as they become available.
UPDATE (08/18): Social Status has officially announced their next Nike Dunk “Free Lunch” collaboration. A short film shared on the store’s Instagram (featured below) details the collection’s free lunch inspiration. Social Status has also confirmed that the pairs will be released on two separate dates: Saturday September 4th for the “Chocolate Milk” colorway and Saturday September 18th for the “Strawberry Milk” variant. Retail prices have yet to be announced.
UPDATE (08/27): Social Status has announced the information about the launch of its first Dunk Style “Free Lunch”. Fans will have two different opportunities to choose the “Chocolate Milk” iteration. From August 30, shoppers can book an appointment online at the Social Status, A Ma Maniére, APB or Prosper websites until September 2 to participate in an in-store raffle. After that, the remaining pairs will be available on September 4 at 11 a.m.ET at Socialstatuspgh.com. The shoe will cost $ 130 in adult size, $ 80 in preschool size and $ 70 in toddler size. The “Strawberry Milk” iteration of the collaboration will be released on September 18th.
UPDATE (09/08): Due to unforeseen circumstances last week, Social Status announced that the online release of its Nike Dunk “Chocolate Milk” will now be released at Socialstatuspgh.com September 10 at 11 a.m. ET.
UPDATE (09/15): After selling on the Social Status website last week, Nike confirms that the Social Status x Nike Dunk “Chocolate Milk” is releasing again this Friday, September 17th via SNKRS for $ 130.
