Social Status’s Nike Dunk Sneakers Are Deliciously Icy Like Donuts

Social Status, the Charlotte-born sneaker store with locations now in five states, concocted two pairs of Nike Dunks meant to look like donuts.

Official images have been leaked for their next collaboration, which will give you the choice between a strawberry or chocolate frosting. Each is available in a color and a mix of fabrics that appear to be suede and velor. And while the donut inspiration isn’t all that obvious, the Swooshes get a brilliant treatment reminiscent of the breakfast frozen treat that comes straight off the line.

(The strawberry version looks more like a splash of cum, but it’s neither here nor there.)

Fresh out of the oven – Social Status’s strawberry version of Dunk Low puts pink and red panels on a cream base reminiscent of the pasty interior of a donut. The heel and toe are both pink in what appears to be velvet or some other soft, tufted fabric, while the eyelet again uses the same fabric in white. A seafoam green interior gives the sneaker a bit more pop, while the Swoosh is yellow in color with, uh, white stuff dripping all over it. And the basis of it all is a brown outsole sitting under an off-white midsole.

The chocolate version is slightly more subdued, which shifts the velvet-like material to the upper and quarter in addition to the heel. Several shades of brown are used on the upper in both materials used, while the outsole is in baby blue and the pink frosting of the Swoosh is less suggestive.

Both sneakers opted for an extra, tiny Swoosh on the toe, an accent that has sometimes been added to the Dunk in recent years. The status logo also appears in place of Nike’s on the tongues, while the kicks will be packaged in a special edition box that features them as “all natural.”

Stay tuned for more information – For now, the leaked images are all we have to do with Social Status’s latest Nike collaboration. A definitive release date has yet to be announced, but Sneakers news suggested the kicks are expected to land sometime in August. Whenever more information drops, expect a sugar rush among sneakerheads.
