Social Work Expert Conference: The Tribune India

Faridabad: The Department of Communication and Media Technology, JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, organized an expert lecture on “Social Work and Society” by Karpreet Kaur Sandhu, Specialist in early childhood in Australia. Interacting with the students, Sandhu discussed various topics such as ‘What does social work involve?’, ‘New changes in the social field’ and ‘Career options in social work’. Describing essential skills for social work, she said empathy and professional engagement were as important as social work. An interview session with the expert also took place. Dr. Pawan Singh Malik, head of the department and the dean of liberal arts and media studies, Prof. Atul Mishra, were among those present at the occasion.

Yamunanagar: A state-level online photography competition was organized by the Penguin Biological Society and the Botany Department of Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar. The theme of the competition was “Nature smiles in spring”. No less than 106 students from various institutions in Haryana enthusiastically participated in the competition. The top five entries received cash prizes from the college. Dr. Sarita Bhandari and Dr. Meenu Kalsi were the overall leaders of the event organized under the leadership of Dr. Rameshwar Groach. The official director of the college, Dr. Rahul Khanna congratulated the winners and the organizers of the event.

Organized athletics meeting

Yamunanagar: Seth Jai Parkash Polytechnic, Damla, organized an athletic meet. The students of the institute participated in various events like races (boys and girls), long jump (boys and girls) and high jump. Director Anil Kumar hoisted the flag of the institute and declared the athletics competition open and greeted the marching student contingents from different majors. The principal said that a good balance between studies and sport is necessary for overall development and success in life. Certificates and prizes were presented to the winners by the director and other staff of the institute.

Central University and pvt lab sign pact

Mahendragarh: The Central University of Haryana (CUH) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Penam Laboratories Ltd for the training and placement of students. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tankeswar, said the aim of the MoU was to provide students with first-hand exposure to how the industry works. “Students will be able to enrich their industrial knowledge and skills to meet recent industrial requirements,” he added. The MoU was signed by Prof. Sarika Sharma, Registrar on behalf of CUH, while Mr. Vikas Pandey, Chief Operating Officer, signed on behalf of Penam Laboratories Ltd.
